Why doesn't Althea have passwords?

Althea does not have passwords. Your username is your email and logging in requires you to click the temporary link sent to your email.

You will stay logged in for 30 days, unless you click Logout in the app. After that, you will need to log in again, in this same way.

This approach means you don't have to remember yet another password. Additionally, it is generally considered more secure as it requires two-factor authentication each time.
